Notability

edit

As with Study Tech, a user has placed a "notability disputed" tag here. Both subjects are notable within the scope of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Scientology, as well as otherwise. wikipediatrix 02:14, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

they're baaaack.

edit

After being down so long that I thought they weren't coming back, the website for the Hubbard College is back online and revamped, although someone forgot to update the "copyright 2004" notice at the bottom. wikipediatrix 15:08, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Picture?

edit

Since the address of the school is given, could someone who lives in the neighborhood go over and take a picture of it? Thanks. Steve Dufour 16:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Does HCA fit in Category:Educational_institutions_established_in_1990, since it's unaccredited? AndroidCat (talk) 04:56, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tone and facts in this article could be improved.

edit

This article currently has a somewhat sarcastic tone, harping on the fact that the school is not accredited and that they don't do an income tax filing (how did they find that out?). Per the WISE website (WISE is the school's parent organization) "It is licensed by the State of California as a degree-granting institution, allowing it to confer business management degrees..." and "HCA International is approved as an official provider of continuing education credits by IACET (International Association of Continuing Education and Training)." These points are not mentioned in the article, though I personally don't know how to verify them. I also question the veracity of the tax filing data, and see it as a bit off the point. We all know that the church and its secular affiliates have been verified by the IRS to be non-profit corporations. I am sure they comply with whatever tax filing requirements exist for such organizations. I was involved in this personally for many years in another section of the church, so I know they take this stuff seriously. Contributors to this article would be wise to stick to historical facts about this school and data given on its websites, and avoid the bathos of the anti-Scientology propagandists. Let's stick to "just the facts." L e cox (talk) 20:09, 22 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lacks notability

edit

This organization is not notable and fails WP:NCORP. I'm just not finding any real sources about HCA. It is not mentioned at all in any of the main contemporary book sources I have been using, including Wright, Reitman, Rinder, Urban or Lewis, or in any of the major reports written after HCA was formed. A google search gives nothing. The article so far relies mostly on primary sources (HCA, WISE, Scientology, or government documents and databases). Citations 8-11 are pretty iffy. There were only 18 students completing a course at HCA in 2022, so this is quite a small organization. I will suggest merging the content into World Institute of Scientology Enterprises, its parent organization.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 07:51, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
