I've found in a second hand bookshop a copy of a children's novel by Hugh Edwards entitled 'The Pearl Pirates', it looks to be part of a series of at least three novels, the other two being 'Tiger Shark' and 'Sea Lion Island', they were published in Australia in the late 1970s and focused on the adventures of a family aboard a yacht called 'Sea Witch'.
