Islam
as nothing more than a temporary measure, I removed the following from the page pending sourcing and proper English presentation:
Just like most of the other religions, Chinese authorities has heavy surveillance control over any kind of Islamic activities. And any form of practicing Islamic activities are banned at primary, middle, and high schools at Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, where has predominantly of populations following Islam as their religious belief. Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position? Yes the article is neutral but the content is grim giving the article a stern and dark tone. Edit Proposal
Hello Wikipedians! I am a student at Rice University, and I am thinking about editing this article as part of my class (Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities). I am currently interested in learning about political repression in China and adding what I learn into Wikipedia articles. I would like to contribute to this page by adding information to the subsection "Sociopolitical issues, human rights, and reform" under Politics. I would add a link to the "Censorship in China" article, flesh out information about how China has treated its political activists (such as Liu Xiaobo), and add how citizens have been going around China's different forms of censorship. I have already been doing some reading, and a list of relevant resources are on my user page if you are interested! Please let me know if you have any suggestions about the direction I should take this! RiceStudent (talk) 22:08, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
Proposed Changes
Hello Wikipedians!
Now that I have thought concretely about what I would like to edit, these are my proposed changes. I would like to add these subsections:
2.6.1 Independence movements 2.6.2 Political abuse of psychiatry 2.6.3 Political prisoners 2.6.4 Pro-democracy movements 2.6.5 Political activism and protests
In the subsection 2.6.2, I will move the current information on political abuse of psychiatry here and add more information regarding how the government labeled political deviants as psychologically unstable as a way to marginalize and institutionalize them. Please let me know what you think of my proposed changes! I will be working on this article in my sandbox first, so you can visit it and review my updated work!RiceStudent (talk) 02:49, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
Editor Review
Excellent work on your addition's RiceStudent. I think you have made an excellent contribution to this article. Your additions excel at presenting the information from a neutral perspective including view points from many different sides of the issue. I also really like your organization. Not only is it easy to find information within your edits, it is also easy to navigate to them from within the article and other articles as well. I think a point of improvement going forward would be to include specific dates when possible, as it is difficult to figure out exactly how much overlap an event in 1945 has with an event in the "1940s." When dates aren't exactly available, descriptors like early, late, and mid could also really provide context and ease understanding. Overall, I think you have made great contributions to wikipedia on this issue, and I'm excited to see your contributions in the future. Dnelson 14 (talk) 20:12, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Article Review
Good job working on this article. It is very comprehensive and provides both breadth and depth in the account of various human rights issues that have arisen and persist in the course of China's history. I would say that the lead could be condensed into one paragraph with less detail, and the information from the lead that is cut out could then be added to a new section that details the clashes between the international community and the Chinese government. 6ibberish (talk) 21:25, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
Reviewing
Human rights in china can be identified as a good source to used to find more information upon the cultures. In the third paragraph didn't really explain the reason why human rights affect the lack of freedom in China. There should be more information provided to better understand the article and the human rights in China. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trankhayla (talk • contribs) 02:50, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

International monitoring of law and justice
Please clarify the progress in international monitoring of law and justice in China: Progress and defeats.
As I see it, WTO rules and all international business should demand that all lawsuits in any country of concern could be followed by external foreign and/or domestic human right jurists. It can be a prerequisite for international business. Is this practice in place in international agreements of business: China and elsewhere? Who summon the access in all court cases? I belive that transparency is an acknowledged principle.
As I understand there is in June 2019 concern of transparency of justice systems in Hongkong and China but also many other countries as an international concern. In which degree WTO rules or human right organizations + jurists address this?

Review of HRiC by UN Human Rights Committee
User:Doanri has reverted the edit, which removed the claim that "[Human rights in China] is periodically reviewed by the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC)" (my reverted edit included explanation that the reference "does not provide HRCommittee coverage on PRC in general - just on Macau and Hong Kong"). However, the reference which User:Doanri has returned shows HRCommittee reports on Hong Kong and Macau only (see below at the right: "Human Rights Committee Concluding observations - China (Hong Kong) (2013) CCPR/C/CHN-HKG/CO/3 Concluding observations - China (Macau) (2013) CCPR/C/CHN-MAC/CO/1 "). This page (at OHCHR website - maybe someone confused OHCHR with UN HRCommittee?) includes links to documents by many other UN bodies - but only two aforementioned documents by HRCommittee. --87.226.9.22 (talk) 23:52, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
