I've tried to format the PD us govt report for 2007/2008 as a start. Not only does the wording need to be fixed, but it needs to be combed through for bias, other refs added, and internal links added. Also, the new Amnesty report needs to be cited directly (not just the news blurb I refed), and an historical summary needs to be given, going back to colonial and post colonial governments. I am going to tag this article with a {{rewrite}}, as it borrows very heavily from one source, a State Department report on the same topic. The report is part of the public domain, and it is impeccably cited, so there's no problem there. But I think maybe the article could stand some reorganization or condensation. I'll put some more thought into it. Hopefully the tag will draw some people in who have more experience than me in human rights, west Africa, and international relations.
