Thomas 2014
Following Lalueza-Fox et. al's work at La Braña-Arintero in Spain, Thomas et al. 2014 sequenced the aDNA of some ancient skeletons in Eastern Europe. They compared the specimens' pigmentation allele frequencies with those of modern inhabitants of the same area and found that the latter possessed on average eight times more TYR gene variants for light skin and four times as many alleles for blue eyes than the ancient specimens. From this, they suggest that the ancient population was still evolving light pigmentation as recently as 5,000 years ago [1]. Soupforone (talk) 01:52, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
