It appears that three days ago someone created the article "New Ancient Greek" on exactly the same subject. Ideally, these two articles should be combined. I'd actually rather suggest that "New Ancient Greek" be merged into this article. They are synonyms, but New Ancient Greek is a little misleading, since the language and especially its uses differ from "authentic" ancient Greek in several ways, including but not limited to vocabulary, genres, and subject matters. The phenomenon is intimately tied to the Humanistic movement (more so than Neo-Latin, which wasn't "revived" at any point, as Latin was in constant use since antiquity and was never limited to humanists): it was always a niche field practiced in small learned circles. In addition, the term "Humanist Greek", coined in the 1970s, had become more or less standardized in recent years, appearing in conference names and frequently used in research (see e.g. titles in the Bibliography).
