I was in the process of adding a new article for the Trinidad capuchin, when I saw that it already redirects here. ITIS still lists as a subspecies, but has this note:
Anthony Rylands (email dated 8 March, 2021) indicates that Cebus albifrons trinitatis Pusch, 1942 should no longer be considered a junior synonym of C. brunneus Allen, 1914, due to reconsideration of the specimens used in Boubli et al. (2012). New work on the genus is pending which will address this
This would resolve the issue with Mammal Diversity website as well. I know I should wait to split this off into its own article, but since this species or subspecies is critically endangered, I Think it would be good to make the article now, as a subspecies, and then when the word comes down with a revised taxonomy (which I expect will say "yes, it's a species"), update the subspecies article to be a species article. What say y'all. If I hear nothing in a few days, I'll be bold and do it anyway. UtherSRG(talk)18:11, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
