At some point "Huntaway" and "New Zealand Huntaway" have been brought together. Could someone clarify the reason "New Zealand Huntaway" was chosen as the main title? There is no other "Huntaway" to cause confusion as is the case with for example the "Australian Kelpie", and the addition of "New Zealand" to the name would be extremely unusual in New Zealand where the dogs are mainly bred and used. The use of "New Zealand Huntaway" elsewhere seems to be predominantly as an added descriptor for those unfamiliar with the breed. Thanks, OnHawkspur (talk) 05:14, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

In New Zealand I have never heard them called "New Zealand huntaways", they are just called huntaways. But there are a couple of overseas websites that refer to them being New Zealand huntaways, whether most people outside New Zealand call them that I don't know, it would be good to know.Rudolph89talk 08:08, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
