Links and facts
editIt seams to me that the link under Untouchable should go to Untouchability (in part "a devon (Americas version of Untouchable)") if it even should be used in that way, as she was simply a concubine. Also there were no casts as it's written ("the ruling caste"), it was a ruling class (yangban to be precise). MEG 17:35, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Article need cleanup
editIt seams as if the article was written "on fly", while watching the series. It is confusing to read as the characters aren't properly named, and there's lack of logical flow - parts aren't connected by cause and effect. Also, a cast, introduction to main characters would be advisable. MEG 17:35, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Copyedit walkthrough
editI'll just leave my concerns here for anyone who wants to take a shot at this.
- Lead
- I'm guessing the 64% refers to the fact that 64 out of every 100 households tuned in while it was on. It needs a qualifier, like "64% of households".
- "After the finale of [the other TV show]" Aside from sharing the same director, why is this relevant? More importantly, what does it mean - does it mean right after that show ended, this one was broadcast in its place? I'm assuming that's what it means.
- Synopsis
- Someone took the time to define "devon" but not "sangnom".
- "erstwhile uncaring" Unnecessarily wordy. Does this mean his father didn't used to care for him but now he does? If so we can just say, "his father, who previously did not care for him," or something like that.
- Why is it mentioned that the lady who lived with Yoo Ui-tae was orphaned?
- "medicinal usage" What does this mean?
- "innovative" sounds POV.
- The article seems very careful to introduce Hur Jun's associates by name only once and then refer to them only by the roles they had in his life, e.g. "the lady in exile" and "his mentor" (of which he apparently had two, thus potentially causing confusion). I don't know how Korean proper names work, but I will say that were these names in English, we would mention them by first and last name initially and then only by last names (e.g. "Michael Jackson" at first and then "Jackson" later on, assuming he's the only person with the fairly common name Jackson in the article). I am taking names and putting them in as many places as they will fit, but if only one part of the name or the other is used in Korean the same way as my Michael Jackson example here, please fix the article accordingly.
- I also know this is a TV show based on true events, but I'm removing sensationalist terminology like "equally haughty". The characters' personalities should be evident by their actions, and will allow for the reader to decide what to call them.
- "join the medical examination" This means hospital or doctor's clinic, right? A medical examination is not a place, but a hospital or doctor's office is.
- Adding to the confusion, later in the same paragraph "examination" is used more in the sense of testing (like the entrance exams of the hospital mentioned previously).
- Was Yeong the guy's full name?
- A wild arresting officer appears! Why doesn't this guy show up sooner and why aren't the charges of Hur Jun's arrest stated here? I'm guessing it has to do with his days in smuggling, but why couldn't it just say he was nearly arrested back then and then reiterate why the guy arrested him later?
I didn't really find anything else despite the fact that I was only about 2/3 of the way through the article at that point. LBG out. LazyBastardGuy 02:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
