- Following its upgrade to tropical storm intensity, Lily began developing a spiral structure and heavy anticyclonic outflow on August 30 and was upgraded to a hurricane the same day. Rather technical wording, can you make it a bit easier for the casual reader to understand?
- During its intensification, United States Air Force reconnaissance tried to fly into the hurricane, but penetration was rendered impossible due to the cumulonimbus clouds in the spiral bands, Why did the clouds prevent them from flying in?
- Following the flight, the hurricane turned towards the Mexican coast at a 30° angle. Can you use directions (such as north, east, south and west) instead of degree angle? Also, what caused it to move this way?
- On August 31, a ship called the Turrialba reported a 980-millibar (29 inHg) sea–level pressure while in the eye of the hurricane. you state the 980 mbar pressure but in the infobox it says the lowest pressure was 998 mbar, why?

- The storm had a short track, travelling a distance of 900 miles (1,400 km). Rather trivial note, other storms have traveled much shorter distances.
- The 30° angle track Lily took off the Mexican coast was not well-forecast due in part to difficulties in interpreting the radar data from the reconnaissance flight. change this sentence according to the direction change in the Met history
- The hurricane was the worst to strike Puerto Vallarta in twenty years. Numbers above ten are written in numerical form
- One person died during a house collapse in the city and two others drowned to death. Drowning to death is redundant
- Separate aftermath from impact (make them two separate paragraphs)
- I'm not sure if you were given notice about this but the naming sections in storm articles has been agreed upon to be removed. All that needs to be mentioned was that the storm wasn't retired.
- The usage of a similar spelling in the ATL is a bit trivial in my opinion.
Overall the article is very well researched, I'm quite impressed by the amount of impact you found for it. However, there are several minor errors throughout the article that need to be addressed before I can pass the article's GAN. - Thanks for the advice! Just to make the review above easier to read, I'll just number the problem and reply to it below:
- No problem.
- I meant Puerto Vallarta, but I missed the fact that I used the name in the prior sentence. I'll fix it.
- Does wikilinking both anticyclone and outflow work? If it doesn't, is there a better word choice?
- Sadly, the best source for the statement doesn't say. It only states that the tall cumulonimbi "blocked penetration", but it doesn't say why, and it's OR to say that the thunderstorms associated with them caused it.
- By 30° to the Mexican coast, it'd make it a north-northwestward motion. I'll make the changes. Also, I couldn't find why the hurricane moved in the direction it did. It may be in a different portion of the summary, but this computer is having trouble loading the page.
- The 998 is the JTWC pressure for the storm. NHC Best Track doesn't give any pressures for the hurricane. Since the 965 mbar pressure reading from 68's Rebecca, although not in best track, was enough to designate it the strongest storm, I think this can work the same way.
- Changed. Also made similar changes where used. Do the measurements in feet need the same?

- Does renaming the "Impact, Records, and Naming" section into an "Impact" section with "Aftermath" - being the relief efforts - into a subsection work? I'll use that for now, and if it doesn't, I'll just revert it. For clarity's sake, do the Barra de Navidad events go into the "Impact" or the "Aftermath"? I'll put that in "Impact" for now, as it occured during the cyclone's time, as opposed to after it.

- In general, I made changes to everything except the feet measurements, the anticyclonic outflow wikilinking, and the penetration error. - I ended up wikilinking anticyclonic outflow to outflow (meteorology), as a rewrite would probably be too wordy and break the prose too much. Although there is a paragraph or two in the document about steering conditions affecting tropical cyclones this year, it only mentions Lily's steering as being similar to those of Nanette, Olivia, and Priscilla. Drawing conclusions from this would, I'd imagine, be skirting OR since, according to the document, "there
- were significant individual differences" between the conditions involved in the four cyclones, and the reasons for Lily's movement are never given. As such, I left the sentence untouched. As far as I can tell, this should address all the problems put forward save for the steering, as there is lacking information on this. Hurricane Angel Saki (talk) 10:44, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
