WMO NOAA TC report
editPreps/impact from NOAA's report to the Typhoon Committee. Page 6. Hurricane Neki formed just over 700 miles due south of the Hawaiian Islands on 18 October. Hurricane Neki reached a peak intensity of 105 KT on 22 October. The track of Neki necessitated a Hurricane Watch for Johnston Island and Hurricane Watches and Warnings for portions of the Papahanaumokuakea National Monument (Northwestern Hawaiian Islands). While Johnston Island was uninhabited, remote U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service camps on Laysan Island, Tern Island, and French Frigate Shoals had to be evacuated. The NOAA ship Oscar Sette safely evacuated 7 people from Laysan Island and a Coast Guard C-130 safely evacuated 10 people from Tern Island and French Frigate Shoals. There were no impacts to the main Hawaiian Islands.Jason Rees (talk) 20:03, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

My initial impressions of this article are very positive, it looks detailed and well-written but I will look everything over before coming to a conclusion.
- Bravo! This is a very well written article, the Meteorological History section is detailed and offers a thorough analysis of Neki and the disturbance leading up to the cyclone. The preparations and impact section is less detailed, but given the remote location of this storm, it is definitely decent. The only problem here is Link rot, the following references need to be replaced with new or alternative versions of information before I can pass this:

- Alright, everything should be in order. Thanks a lot for the review! --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:26, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
