Death date
editDate of death is from Encyclopedia Iranica. It's often given as 1961. --Cam 16:04, 18 May 2006 (UTC) Dear sir/madam, Please add Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Kazemeyni Borujerdi to your list. I can send you his Biography. Regards S.Z.
"agrarian destruction"?
editAyatollah Borujerdi passively opposed the Pahlavi regime's agrarian reforms, which he called "agrarian destruction."
Were not the White Revolution land reforms of the Shah announced in 1963 January? Borujerdi died in 1962. --BoogaLouie (talk) 00:21, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- In researching your question I found out that the Encyclopedia Iranica is wrong about the year of death. The New York Times and Time Magazine [1] both reported Borujerdi's death in 1961. --Cam (talk) 02:09, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Borujerdi talks with Einstien
editCan anyone confirm that Einstien did write almost 40 letters to Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Borujerdi and after satisfied replies from him, Einstien even met him? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.42.14.42 (talk) 07:56, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Relation with Khomeini
editI've found the following information about Borujerdi's relation with Khomeini:
"The death, in 1961, of 86-year old Grand-Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Borujerdi, Supreme Leader of Shia Islam in Iran since 1947, makred a turning point in Iranian politics from "quietism" (separation of church and state) as favoured by Borujerdi to an ever escalating struggle between the monarchy and the clergy until the former was utterly destroyed and the stated submitted to supreme clerical authority in an Islamic republic. Borujerdi had personally ruled out succession by the radical Ruhollah Khomeini with a warning on his deathbed: "Follow anyone you like, except Khomeini. Following Khomeini shall lead you knee-deep in blood"."

Anyone object adding this to the article? Stefka Bulgaria (talk) 09:03, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Stefka Bulgaria your edits and proposal violate WP:UNDUE. The most comprehensive scholarly source on Borujerdi that I found was this article in Encyclopedia Iranica. It devotes several paragraphs on Borujerdi's charitable activities and Borujerdi's relations with Mahmud Shaltut. It doesn't mention Khomeini or the pepsi fatwa. Yet you removed Borujerdi's charitable activities and removed Borujerdi's relations with Mahmud Shaltut. But you decided to add an entire section on the pepsi fatwa. This is WP:POVPUSH.VR talk 03:44, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Pepsi fatwa
editDuring the 1950s, Boruerdi issued a fatwa making Pepsi Cola illegal in Iran. According to Ruhollah Khomeini, this was because the Pepsi franchise in Iran was held by Bahais.
First, the source doesn't seem to mention Khomeini when talking about the pepsi fatwa. The page cited is in the Foreward of the book, which was written by Michael M. J. Fischer and Mehdi Abedi, not Khomeini.
Second, Stefka's addition violates WP:COATRACK. This article is about Borujerdi, so why is Stefka trying to find ways to make it about criticism of Khomeini?VR talk 03:59, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Lineage
editIf he traced his descent 30 generations to Hassan ibn Ali, a grandson of the Prophet, doesn't that mean that he traced his descent 32 generations to the Prophet? Or should this be: "he traced his descent 32 generations to the Prophet via the Prophet's grandson Hassan ibn Ali"?Bill (talk) 00:10, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
Burden of proof
editAny evidence suggesting Einstein had ever met/talked/etc Borujerdi? Or had read anything from Borujerdi? 77.110.145.190 (talk) 04:18, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
