End of reaction: who takes the proton ?
editThat mechanism looks a little funky. Hydride attacking bisulfate??? If anyone feels like fixing it that would be great. I don't even think bisulfate should be doing the deprotonation, more likely H2O..... 128.223.32.10 13:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, there is a inconsistency between the text (describing a water molecule takes the proton) and the picture (showing the HSO4- does it). - I suggest to change the picture so it shows Oxonium and water molecules acting instead of H2SO4. Changing the picture would also solve the problem for other languages (e.g. de:Hydratisierung) -- Gerd Fahrenhorst 08:08, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, should be corrected. sorry it took me a year to change it lol. Ccroberts @ 17:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Arrows
editI was taught that the curly arrows (technical term) should have both sides on the arrow when two electrons are transferred and just one side to the arrow (like in the graphic example) when only one electron is transferred. Is this not true or does this example only contain single electron transfers (it didn't look like that to me)? --DrazharLn (talk) 09:37, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
