Review of Article
edit1. One strength of this entry is the description of this beetle as a pest. They do a good job of describing how it invades the tree, as well as explaining how it affects the plant’s mortality rate. One interesting thing I learned from this article is that this beetle is considered to be a “threat to biosecurity of all forested countries”. This emphasizes how invasive these beetles are.
2. One section that would have been helpful is a mating section. There is a short description of how the beetle mates, but it is under the “Biology” section and it would be easier to access under a separate section for mating. A second section that would have been good to include is a habitat section. The article mentions where the beetle lives but it would be useful to include more information about its habitat and how it interacts with it as a pest. A final section that is missing from this article is a section on the beetle’s diet. Overall, there is the main issue of a lot of information that can be split into specific sections being left in a general “Biology” section. Splitting it into sections would make it much more helpful for the reader.
3. This article is rated C-class on Wikipedia’s scale of content assessment and is of mid-importance for the Beetles WikiProject. Additionally, it is of mid-importance on the “Insects” WikiProjects. There is currently no discussion on the talk page but I think it would be good to discuss how this article can be broken into sections to make it easier to navigate as well as more informational.
