Occupation
editWhat does "chorizo ocupacional" mean? I suggest that anyone who understands Spanish should translate this. "Chorizo" is slang for "thief". Basically, it means that his position is to obtain profit from improper sources.

His paternal garndparents aren't from basque small nobility. Thy're basque but not from the nobility. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.55.245.118 (talk) 12:05, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- His paternal grandparents are given as "de Urdangarín" and "de Berriochoa". Doesn't "de" mean that they were nobility? СЛУЖБА (talk) 19:27, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
No it doesn't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.158.203.57 (talk) 16:01, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
In the above-mentioned book by Jon Juaristi, he scorns at the notion of the Urdangarin or the Liubaert being nobles. The family is part of the Basque bourgeoisie. --Error (talk) 00:32, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
Ancestry.
editIf his paternal grandparents "were entirely from Basque small nobility", then from where could his father have "Belgian descent"??? СЛУЖБА (talk) 09:13, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- It's his mother who is Belgian. So it's him that has "Belgian descent", not his mother. Fixed. Xelaxa (talk) 18:00, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- Is it possible that his mother is related to Minister of State Baron Liebaert? They come form the same region i noticed...Carolus (talk) 03:48, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
Title
editHe is correctly styled as The Most Excellent The Duke Consort of Palma de Mallorca (Castillian: Duque Consorte de Palma de Mallorca). He is a Duke Consort, not a Duke in his own right. He is the Consort of the Infanta Cristina, who is a Spanish Royal duchess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.77.70.72 (talk) 16:27, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Rubbish. There has never been such a title. He is not anybody's consort. He is simply Cristina's husband. He is "duke consort of Palma de Mallorca" just as much as Camilla is "duchess consort of Cornwall". Surtsicna (talk) 20:32, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Royal family website removal
editOn the Spanish Royal Family's official website, Inaki has been removed. I first heard of the news online, but I'm sure some of you will be able to find that out on the website here. So, my main question is, should this be added in the article?? --PrincessAlice13 (talk) 18:20, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Please, remove to "Iñaki Urdangarin"
editHello, Currently, he is no longer the "Duke of Palma de Mallorca", so I suggest to remove and redirect just to "Iñaki Urdangarin". Bye--Castelao (talk) 10:59, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

- Support. As Infanta Cristina's ducal title has been removed, he is no longer the Duke. Metheglyn (talk) 16:32, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support. No longer a duke, common name in media as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Killuminator (talk • contribs) 00:56, 13 June 2015
I apologize for interfering with the move request. It occured to me that be a move request might have been initiated only after I had performed my move. In any case, the proposed title (Iñaki Urdangarin) is the best option. The former title is, of course, the worst, being now inaccurate and contrary to WP:BLP (since his wife apparently expressed a desire to be stripped of the title).
