History and development
editDoes someone have information regarding the history and development of the ICER codec? Who created it and at which organization/site? --DBBell (talk) 22:59, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Basically all of the sources cited in the article seem to be self-published by JPL/NASA. Is the topic notable? — BarrelProof (talk) 00:20, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
Comparisons to JPEG 2000 seem irrelevant
editOver half of this article compares the ICER format to JPEG 2000. It sounds almost like a sales pitch, as in the section, "Design commonalities with the JPEG2000 compressor." There are already plenty of comparisons between the two formats on the JPEG 2000 page.
Could someone rewrite this article to focus more on ICER and less on this other format? --Charizardpal (talk) 04:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
External links modified (January 2018)
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on ICER. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20090706080635/http://web99.arc.nasa.gov/~vgulick/GSOM/LPSC2000/SPEC_Path.pdf to http://web99.arc.nasa.gov/~vgulick/GSOM/LPSC2000/SPEC_Path.pdf

– No primary topic. The nonprofit Institute for Clinical and Economic Review gets more page views than the file format, and Google Scholar results return a wide variety of topics in which the file format does not prominently figure. ICER file format doesn't appear to be an expandable acronym. (t · c) buidhe 22:08, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. The file format is certainly not a primary topic, since I can't find any mention of it with a web search for independent third-party sources. The only sources cited in the article are self-published by the institution that designed the format. There is also a highly respected annual scholarly conference and Incremental cost-effectiveness ratio. — BarrelProof (talk) 04:08, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
