Notability

edit

Following some concerns about the notability of this company, I added some references including the following statement: "Around the time of the dot.com boom in 2000, IONA briefly attracted a valuation of $3.2b (2.7 billion euro)." [1] This statement has been removed in the latest edit without explanation. --RichardVeryard 15:41, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect description of GPL/LGPL licenses

edit

Not sure where this goes, since it's unrelated to Wikipedia: IONA's website misrepresents the GNU GPL/LGPL licenses: "GNU general Public license (GPL) / GNU Lesser general Public license (LGPL) – allows free use of the software and documentation, but users cannot redistribute it in their own products." (bold is mine). Anyone familiar with these licenses knows this is not the case; the GPL in particular is the opposite: you're mandated to allow redistribution of GPL'ed software, and you actually cannot forbid its redistribution with full source code! This is not nitpicking. Is it worth mentioning in the article? 201.216.245.25 (talk) 18:07, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
