Ives Image

I have removed Ive's image from the page as its over precedence to someone that isn't actually relevant to the product at hand. The article already gives too much precedence to the software over the actual product and does not need an image to support that further.Blethering Scot 20:19, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Ive is the designer of the operating system, which is the aspect that the consumer uses. The software section is the most prominent because we've had info on it for over four months, whereas info on the rest of the iPad Air has just come out or has yet to. Just because its relevant isn't enough of a reason for a photo. Its has to be justifiable and add something to the scope of the article and in this case its not as it over emphasises something that is already over emphasised. Yes Ive designed the software so yes a photo in the article of that software alone could certainly add something to it but not here. A photo of the actual device, location of announcement or even the actual software (questionable over the others) is what it needs at this time.Blethering Scot 20:50, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Over time, a photo of the actual device and announcement location will emerge. As said earlier, the iPhone 5S article has all of those things. This article is currently under construction, meaning that certain, more developed ideas may be emphasized before more important information is released. Jonathan Ive designed the operating system. His ideas included "refined typography, new icons, translucency, layering, physics, and gyroscope-driven parallaxing as some of the major changes to the design," and his departure from skeuomorphic design has had a major impact on the iPad's design as a whole. none of that means a photo of the designer is required on this page, yes on software and various others but not prominently over more of what is needed relevant images of the type I've mentioned above. Photos should add something that cant be achieved in text and when we would only be over emphasising something that through whatever reason is already over emphasised its unnecessary. Once article is fully developed and needs images to futher it then at that point a re-discussion would be wise. No article requires images. It's just that Ive has made a major contribution to the iPad's software. Articles don't have images added once the text is complete (and the text is really never complete). Zach Vega (talk to me) 22:09, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

No the addition of an image of Ive does not add anything at all to the article. Yes articles require images but they should be appropriate and add something visually that cant be done by text. Still an 5th generation iPad.

For the sake of Wiki readers to know the generation, Wiki should go by generation and not the names Apple pulls out of the air (yes, I know). The 5th gen is still the same screen size (9.7") and resolution as the 4th and 3ed gen, just a smaller case and faster motherboard. Zach Vega, names used are iPad, iPad 2, iPad with Retina, Retina iPad(?), but it is all the same family. =Flightsoffancy (talk) 21:57, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Do this article really need the "Under Construction" banner any more?

Clearly it does not. Most of the major editing on the article has been completed. Only minor edits in the last few days. The banner is only an eye sore at this point. I don;t think that we really need for there to be absolutely no exits on the article for several days. That would be ridiculous.--JOJ ^Hutton 17:40, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Connectors

The article mentions a Lighting connector, http://store.apple.com/uk/buy-ipad/ipad-air shows that there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack, so should these two be listed under Connectors in the Info box. John a s (talk) 14:27, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

• Support moving, all the other generations are so disambiguated, and the 1st generation is definitely not the primary topic of this term. In lieu of a base article, this can redirect to the base family article iPad (iPad#iPad Air), and you'll have time to write up a new "iPad Air" base in the meantime. There is no reason for something that is not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC to occupy the base location.
