OFDM system comparison table
editFeel free to add an ISDB column to the OFDM#OFDM system comparison table. --Mange01 11:51, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
What resolutions and frame rates?
editDoes it support 1080p? --Daniel.Cardenas 18:37, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. This article should certainly state what resolutions and framerates can be used, and which ones are more widely used. So far I've only come across one source, which does not seem to be entirely up-to-date: "Although technical standards include 720p as one of the HDTV, the choice of Japanese broadcasters is 1080i." broadcastpapers.com --JoaCHIP (talk) 08:44, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Article needs an overhaul
editThere are exceptionally horribly written and obviously biased (not to mention ridiculously naive) segments in the article. For instance:
“ | Addidionally mobile TV was started with success with Samsung and Toshiba cell phones, presenting very high quality and the best: Digital TV service for free! That is very impressive conquest once in a short period since launched Brazil is already offering digital mobile TV for free. In other countries such accomplishment occoured years later, and in some countries like USA and European countries this reality is far from reality and probably won't be for free. | ” |
--189.81.100.238 (talk) 14:23, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Totally agree. The article is painful to the eyes and evidently written by Brazilians. mostly if not entirely biased. If they want they should write like that in their language wikipedia, if anyone other than themselves read it. The passage you mention is awful and the "sucess" of 20000 stb on the first year and probably less in 2009 (living in a big city here in Brazil and couldnt find a decoder in retail last week). Middleware has been completely dumped to a new standard, no specs and "probably in late 2010"... Will add POV banner --201.21.52.193 (talk) 19:18, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- This particular paragraph is indeed partial and unfair. "Subscription mobile TV in Germany using DBV-H has been dubbed "a failure".[14] In Italy the cost of receiving mobile TV over DVB-H costs the user €9.90 per month just for the basic channel package.". 1-SEG merely allows to receive DTT channels, not to set up a dedicated mobile PayTV broadcast like DVB-H allows. Italy sells premium content on mobile PayTV and the 9.9EUR price actually reveals a successful project with wide public interest, with well over a million subscribers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.233.56.28 (talk) 15:00, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- There are several parts of this page which are also obviously biased towards the Japanese; see ISDB-T\History on the article. These claims have no sources and need citation. --Tomrow (talk) 13:02, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Country order
editI changed the order of the Americas' country list to reflect the following order:
- Current state of the standard in that particular country
- Day of adoption
Mercosur
editVenezuela does not belong to Mercosur. The Paraguayan Congress repeatedly objected its entrance, due to the presence of Hugo Chavez. --Aldo L (talk) 12:20, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Angola
editDid Angola (República de Angola) adopt ISDB for their TV systems? http://www.digitaltvnews.net/content/?cat=499 --210.174.41.1 (talk) 08:28, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Wrong comparison between formats
editOn the table comparing ISDB-T with DVB-T and ATSC, it doesn't make sense to have audio and video formats being compared. DVB-T does not call for specific A/V formats, and additionally there are several different implementations including H.264 and AAC-HE. --Tafinho (talk) 12:12, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

"Copy-protection technology" section
editI've removed the section on ISDB copy-protection technology due to it lacking sources (the only two were a link to a tool to circumvent said protection, and a citation of the cost to replace a B-CAS card) and being written in a heavily anti-copy-protection tone. If you are knowledgeable on the subject, please feel free to rebuild this section with reliable sources and in a neutral tone. --amlz (talk) 06:04, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
