Flanders and Swann connection?
editThe phrase "I found my horn" seems likely to be taken from a version of Flanders and Swann's Ill Wind, a song about playing the French Horn (until it is stolen), set to the tune of the third movement of Mozart's 4th Horn Concerto. The following lines appear in the song:
- I've lost that horn. I know I was using it yesterday.
- I've lost that horn, lost that horn, found that horn gone!
This can sometimes be found with the variant "I've lost my horn... found my horn gone." Koro Neil (talk) 12:14, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, undoubtedly. Note that the American title is "A Devil to Play", a phrase which is likewise found in "Ill Wind". DS (talk) 18:19, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
