He was wearing a loin cloth and barefoot, walking on scaffolding. A huge wooden Garuda was being carved in wood, maybe 2 1/2 stories high. Gusti was calling instructions to the carver several scaffolds higher up. Gusti and I talked, when he came down from the scaffolding. He showed me a book published in 1905 that had a picture of him in it. He was middle aged in the picture. Gusti told me he was 124 in our conversation.
