Airplay

@Szyign appears to be adding airplay charts to the charts section, while @MarioSoulTruthFan is repeatedly reverting them. Rather than edit warring over the topic, I think it would be appropriate to address what's been going on here and come to some consensus. —JavaJourney (talk | contribs) 21:48, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

We have the regular charts all over Europe that count sales/streaming. The other user keeps adding airplay charts because the song peaked at number twelve on France (regular charts) and it peaked at number one in the airplay chart (France is just an example). Well yeah, I believe that if the song performs better on the radio than on sales/streaming charts it should be noted it peaked at #1 on the radio, if it didn't on the streaming/sales chart. The issue is that not all of the single charts include airplay data, thus it's not a component chart, as it doesn't include it at all. Szyign (talk) 05:14, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

It’s not really cherry-picking - I’ve seen many single artcles where, if a song has a significantly higher peak on airplay charts than on the main sales/streaming chart, both are included specifically to highlight the contrast and show that the track performed better on radio than commercially. The categories should never been added in the first place. They are related to number-one single on the official charts and not the airplay components of those or non airplay component. Nevertheless, I will stand my ground that the radio peaks are not relevant since the song entered the main chart on the country. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:19, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
