Accuracy of plot summary

edit

The plot summary has been almost completely taken (by me) from Wikipedia's article on the film of the novel. As such, it may be inaccurate or incomplete in places where the film strays from the book. Since I'm the one who did the importing, I don't actually dispute it, but there's no "needs confirmation" cleanup tag, so I opted for the "factual accuracy" one. --Cybercobra (talk) 08:40, 16 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, at least you admitted it. A lot of people would simply copy it and try to fake its authenticity. I have not read the book nor seen the movie (and do not intend to do either), but as a rule of thumb a movie usually strays from, expands upon, or streamlines a book in some way or another. It is probably somewhat inaccurate, but for now it will do. That is, until someone comes along who's a huge "I Love You, Beth Cooper" fan and can honestly compare the book and the movie. 24.15.197.87 (talk) 14:12, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just finished reading the book and the plot summary on here. The only major differences between the movie and the book are that the book has more mature themes to it and the ending is different (More open-ended and it leaves the reader to make their own decisions). 74.251.217.212 (talk) {signing for IP user for clarity --Cybercobra (talk) 11:24, 30 July 2009 (UTC)}Reply
All the same, I would suggest the summary should be written by someone who's actually read the book. JuJube (talk) 11:03, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I completely agree. It needs an overhaul. Actually, I have read the book, it was just so long ago that I don't recall the plot and don't have the inclination to reread it. --Cybercobra (talk) 11:19, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just read the novel and checked the page on here. I saw the note about the plot summary and decided to update it as my memory is still fresh... [Fred] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.145.160.94 (talk) 22:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

This article is not an accurate description of the novel, and conflates plot elements of that story with elements that were changed for the movie adaptation.
