Name
editWhy call him Abu'l-Barakāt al-Baghdādī when he was known by his Hebrew name Baruch ben Malka for most of his life until his conversion to Islam? Silberner Pfahl (talk) 14:51, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
- Probably because his magnum opus, Kitab al-Mu'tabar, was written in Arabic and bore his Arabic name? Jews in those times and places frequently bore Arabic names alongside their Hebrew ones, and used them when writing in Arabic. Nahum (talk) 02:55, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
