The article says he lived "in the 12th and 13th centuries", and was alive as late as 1243. Skinner, Neil (1968). "The Origin of the Name 'Hausa'". Africa: Journal of the International African Institute. 38 (3): 253. doi:10.2307/1157217. Retrieved 2007-12-16. {{cite journal}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help) says that he died in "the last quarter of the thirteenth century". In other words, after 1275. I find it unlikely - but not impossible - that he could have been an active poetry collector before 1200 and died after 1275. Anyone got more information about his life? Am I just misinterpreting the wording? Picaroon (t) 21:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

He was born in 1213 and died in 1286, according to http://arkeotavira.com/Estudos/texto-ibn-ammar-finalR.pdf. Picaroon (t) 22:08, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
