Pictures
editHi Theroadislong, the pictures you removed are NOT violating any copyright, all of them are released, I ask you to please undo your delete, or if you still find it that it violates copyrights, please explain why before deleting, thanks.
- Released by who? Theroadislong (talk) 19:14, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Theroadislong, Released by the author of the picture for the portrait picture, by the journal that released all rights before closing its doors (it doesn't exist anymore) , and even if the journal was still existing, I have seen multiple pictures from journal articles over Wikipedia, and mine is very well and correctly cited, for the official pictures, they are released as this is the policy of the Lebanese official archives, but if you prefer, we can mention that it has been taken from there. So all the pictures I have put have been released by their authors. Thank You. Carlhatem (talk) 19:27, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Even though I don't agree with you deleting the picture, I know that this has an honest goal to make Wikipedia the best and most correct encyclopedia, and I respect and thank you for your service, Nevertheless, I think that the pictures should be added back. thank you very much.Carlhatem (talk) 19:29, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- You will need to provide evidence. You can't just copy photographs and say they have been released. Theroadislong (talk) 19:33, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
What would you consider as an evidence? I do not think that people put "evidences" on every picture they upload, plus why do you consider that The journal cannot be put? many articles have journal articles, and theirs are about journals still active, the one I uploaded isn't even in service anymore.Carlhatem (talk) 19:41, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- You say "I do not think that people put "evidences" on every picture they upload" yes they do, otherwise they are tagged for deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 19:47, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
other than that, don't you think that this article can finally be published as it is now complete and has all the sources and information needed to be reliable? Thank You Theroadislong. Carlhatem (talk) 19:43, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Theroadislong, and can you please answer my question, "how would you like me to prove it?" would you like me to try to contact authors and have them signed a release paper? if yes, I will work on it tomorrow, how would you like me to share this signed paper once and if I obtain it? Thanks. Carlhatem (talk) 19:54, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- Help can be found here Wikipedia:Image use policy#Required information. Theroadislong (talk) 19:58, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Thank you Theroadislong for clarifying this, I now know that I should include the contact information of the author that released the rights, I will re-upload the pictures along with the contact information of the authors, and after that, I will re-upload the corrected verifiable pictures on the article. But do you think Theroadislong, that the article is now complete and can now be published as all the sources have been added and all the information have been verified. Thank YouCarlhatem (talk) 20:11, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- I will leave the review to another user, since I moved it to draft. Copyright of photographs rests with the photographer usually, NOT the owner of the photograph, it is best to limit the upload of photographs to photographs you have taken yourself. Theroadislong (talk) 20:16, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Thank you very much Theroadislong for your help and advices :) Carlhatem (talk) 20:29, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
