fur coat controversy
didn't a bunch of hunters/trappers get upset by the line - but not a real fur coat that's cruel? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.180.218.83 (talk) 04:50, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Trivia
I saw this song on a New York Lottery ad from 2000. I think it should be mentioned somewhere. Thanks Patrolman89 01:09, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- You mean like where it already says "The song was used in television and radio advertising for the New York State lottery."? TheHYPO 10:27, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Q
Can you access the youtube video that is linked to? I get to the first chorus banter about the fridge and then the movie ends (dispite it claiming to be 4+ minutes). TheHYPO 19:19, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Milliondollars.jpg
Image:Milliondollars.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
single or not?
The lede says that this song was never released as a single, but the infobox right next to it says the opposite. Which has the reliable sourcing? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:25, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Question that is not answered in the article
Hello, is this song about one million U.S. Dollars (USD) or one million Canadaian Dollars (CAD)? I gots to know! Mike R (talk) 22:50, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- This song is almost certainly about Canadian money, since the band wrote it in Canada before they even had any idea that they would be performing in the States. But then again, nowadays, it doesn't really matter. They're about the same. Thesithwithashotgunshell (talk) 01:01, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Why not Fijian Dollars, or Australian Dollars, or Hong Kong Dollars? The dollar isn't an exclusive currency to the US and Canada. I bet the song would have a very different meaning if it was implying Zimbabwean Dollars. See Dollar#National_currencies_called_.22dollar.22 for more info. It's pretty safe to assume they were talking about Canadian Dollars, since that's the national currency where they were performing when they wrote the song. Not encyclopedic information though, no sense pursuing this further. 24.68.241.7 (talk) 03:00, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
