State of the article

edit

There is a good deal to be done here, mostly in the realm of additional information; some bits need rewriting too. I will do what I can when I can, but I urge those with more knowledge to jump in too! --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 17:09, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

infobox

edit

Why not use the musical artist biographical infobox for this article? There apparently seems to a problem about using it. --Boguslav 01:24, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aldo Moro case

edit

Leave that reference in, it's almost established knowledge--and even bewildering too. And even if you don't like it, unwelcome state of affairs ought to be in an encycl. article if need be. AlterBerg (talk) 14:03, 26 November 2012 (UTC)AlterBergAlterBerg (talk) 14:03, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Looks like any references to the Moro case have been purged from the article.
Should they be put back? Pascalulu88 (talk) 19:16, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, per WP:WEIGHT.-Aristophile (talk) 20:36, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Never mind, I've just seen that Markevitch is mentioned in the article about the Moro kidnapping. Thanks! Pascalulu88 (talk) 22:49, 20 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposal to make Markevitch page

edit

The whole "Igor Markevitch descends from a Jewish merchant" thing is still not actually fleshed out in any of those links. All they say is that the "Markevitch" family may or may not be descended from a Jewish forebearer. That information is interesting but how it's relevant specficially to Igor Markevitch and not the dozens of other famous people who come from this family I don't understand. So I propose to simply put in this article that Igor descends from the famous Markevitch family and then make a separate page for the family, where we included this information about them possibly deriving from a Jewish forebearer. 160.39.224.243 (talk) 21:35, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Red Brigades

edit

The Wikipedia article on the kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro has a section on an alleged involvement of this composer with the brigades, not mentioned here.

Kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro#Role of Igor Markevitch Claverhouse (talk) 12:00, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

The way that section was written does not make clear what Markevitch had to do with Moro's murder. It seems to tease that he allowed his house to be used, but how and why isn't explained. The Corriere della Sera citation is offline, but I think I have access to its online archive. Will check later. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 15:46, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
