To not merge, as the rivers are different; to disambiguate with hatnotes. Klbrain (talk) 08:08, 6 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

It appears that Iguazu River and Iguaçu River are one and the same. Accordingly I am herewith proposing that these two related articles are merged together.

  • Strong Oppose Both articles are about different rivers that are not related at all, one being on the border with Argentina and the other in Rio de Janeiro, being away from each other. Merging will create unnecessary confusion. I suggest to that the most known one have the redirect template if you think that exist a confusion between the two rivers. --2x2leax (talk) 09:23, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • A redirect template for Iguaçu River already exists actually, and redirects back to Iguazu River, wherein the article then states that "Iguazu River" is also known as "Iguaçu River". So, as you can see, it is indeed very confusing. If the two articles are not merged, may I please suggest that the article about Iguaçu River in Rio de Janiero is edited so as to clarify such confusion, and that additionally a disambiguation page for these two Brazilian rivers is created please? No, I mean the {{Redirect}} (Template:Redirect); you should go to watch how it is used. I don't know if creating a disambiguation page is necessary, considering there are only two articles. I would prefer a third opinion on that. --2x2leax (talk) 00:24, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
There's no need for disambiguation page; hatnotes suffice. See WP:ONEOTHER. Klbrain (talk) 11:03, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
