"Male alto" or "alto castrato"?
editThe table of "Roles" uses the phrase "alto castrato" as a "voice type". In general in this sort of list, I have more often seen the phrase "male alto". Such a role of course in that time and place would be sung by a castrato, there's no question about that. It's just the voice type terminology that I question. At Orontea it's just "castrato" which is worse as that's no "voice type" at all. Contact Basemetal here 17:53, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
Re: "Male alto" or "alto castrato"?
editActually you should just write Alto, but I prefer to add Castrato, because the alto roles sung by castratos at the first preformance, and so you also know it's a male role. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.166.73.45 (talk) 11:02, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
