Gay bars

edit

We'd need to be sure the closures are specifically attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, at least in part, but Therapy (New York City) and Badlands (San Francisco) are quite unlikely to reopen. --Another Believer (Talk) 21:32, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm aware of a couple others that are unlikely to reopen as well—will try to get around to creating articles for them in the next couple weeks. Armadillopteryx 15:22, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Chillabit: Thanks for updating the article. I noticed you added info about gay bars in the U.S., so I wanted to put this section on your radar, in case you're interested in adding mention of other closed U.S. bars. Either way, thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:52, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Transgender rights in Hungary

edit

I added a section relating to the stripping back of transgender rights in Hungary (a bill introduced in March and passed in May enforcing "sex at birth" on legal documents rather than gender as previous). I've written it in the context of being introduced the day after Viktor Orbán was given the power to rule by decree, although the two are not strictly linked as Orbán did not use this power to enact the legislation.

There is at least one source that hypothesise the legislation was strategically timed to try and "fly under the radar" as most news sources focused on the introduction of rule by decree, but I haven't included it as a single standfirst doesn't feel noteworthy enough to include, even from a source as notable as The Guardian.

If the citation is useful: Walker, Shaun (2 April 2020). "Hungary seeks to end legal recognition of trans people amid Covid-19 crisis". The Guardian. Retrieved 11 October 2020. Draft bill comes as people are distracted by Viktor Orbán's new powers to rule by decree.

Categories

edit

Hello, new editor here! I will be adding information as well as re-organizing the information into categories of type of impact to give the article more structure. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JHeber10 (talkcontribs) 02:37, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @JHeber10, thanks for your edits. Can you please try to make sure that citations follow punctuation as per MOS:CITEPUNCT? It would also be ideal for specific country information to be located in the specific sections for those countries, and more general impacts worldwide be discussed in the background section - the three sections you have created are a little US-specific right now. Tvcameraop (talk) 16:37, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I agree, thats great feedback. I am still working on adding general information to the background sections. After, I will work on moving the pre-existing info on U.S and other Country Specific details to their sections. Thank you! JHeber10 (talk) 18:04, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

LGBTQ+ Seniors

edit

Hi folks, first time editing here for a class! My goal is to add more about LGBTQ+ senior experiences during COVID-19 since I think it could improve the article. I organized some of the information into sections to help structure the background portion on general impacts. I am following the style of a similar page in this wikiproject. The page on disabilities also breaks down information into impact on health and employment. Thank you! JHeber10 (talk) 18:37, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
