Title
editThis page was moved a while ago, without explanation, to the current spelling “In Aménas” (with an e acute). There is little support for this here, and almost none generally. Of the six sources given here, four use the spelling “In Amenas”, and another is ambiguous. It is therefore proposed the page be moved to the original spelling; the discussion is here if anyone wishes to comment. Moonraker12 (talk) 23:16, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- Moonraker12, this again is not what I had in mind when I suggested you please add RM notices. The 2007 adding of French accent was done by an editor making significant contribution to an article that in 2007 none of us cared about. If anything this kind of invitation is counter-productive to your RM, I already !voted and it just makes me more likely to withdraw support, particularly on the airport which has sources showing Air Algérie's spelling as In Aménas. - In ictu, this is already under discussion, here and here. Shall we keep it at that? Moonraker12 (talk) 01:00, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello. I moved this article to its current name over five years ago, based on references and links added in this edit, primarily the following:
- The official AIP and Chart at www
.sia-enna .dz both used the name ZARZAITINE / In Aménas. - The EGSA-Alger web page for the airport (as of 2007) listed the name in French as Aéroport d'Ain Aménas.
- The official AIP and Chart at www
- If the more common usage now is without the acute accent, then add supporting references to the article and move it. I see that the current EGSA-Alger web page does not have the "e" acute, however the most recent versions of the AIP and chart still do. I suggest that any move of the airport article should also involve updating and moving the location article In Aménas.

- Zyxw: Thanks for replying.
- I can see that the change to the EGSA-Alger webpage has muddied the waters a bit. But the page currently has 2 references, and 2 external links, that use the unaccented form, and only one (the AIP chart) that unequivocally use the e acute; the AIP page itself manages to use both terms indiscriminately, as well as spelling "aérodrome" and "Algérie" with and without the e acute.
- Still, we'll see what the outcome of the RM is...Moonraker12 (talk) 01:11, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
