Material by editor "PonchoChet"

The last 60 edits by one editor have created a travesty of misinformation. Many problems fixed during the campaign in Fall 2010 have resurfaced. The new editor is "PonchoChet", created 18 December 2010. I suggest reverting the article to the version of 28 October 2010, and making any updates from there.

Besides poor editing and POV, the substantive problem stems from the fact that the Indy Greens endorse candidates in many races, including all congressional races. The candidates often do not acknowledge or accept the endorsements. Previously we reached consensus that these endorsements were not notable enough to be included in the article. So only candidates listed as Indy Green nominees by the State Board of Election were listed in the article. The fact that the Indy Greens endorse many other independent candidates, and why they do, was notable and included. The the "2010" section listed only the four congressional candidates running as Indy Greens, not all eleven "endorsed" candidates. -Colfer2 (talk) 19:52, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

I added a POV tag to the top of the article in the meantime. -Colfer2 (talk) 19:56, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Misstatements by editor "Colfer2"

Colfer2 is misinformed. Colfer2 has not stated the facts, nor the truth. This is easily proven and documented. Just look at the pictures on the page. Kenny Golden, John D. Kelly, Janet Murphy, Jeff Vanke, Jeremiah Heaton. In 2010, as in all previous years Independent Green Party leaders, and members have been on the ballot as Independents. That is easily documented in the public record. Look at the 2008 list of Independent Green Party presidential electors. You will find William Grogan and others, who have been on the ballot as Independents. In 2010, as documented on the Independent Greens web site, Independents for congress were serving as congressional district chairs of the Independent Greens. That Included John D. Kelly, elected IG chairman in 3rd congressional district, Janet Murphy Indy Green Press Secretary 4th congressional district candidate, Jeff Clark elected Indy Green 5th district chairman. Open Secrets documents the in kind contributions of Indy Greens on the Kenny Golden petition drive. PonchoChet (talk) 23:20, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

POV and Formatting Issues, January 2010

The 2010 congressional results are now official, and available here at the State Board of Elections site. I think we should either improve the current article or start back with the 28 October 2010 version. The 60+ recent edits have formatting errors which need to fixed in any case. Here is a diff of the most recent 4 edits, for example, and a screenshot of the formatting problems in the 2010 section. Then there are the problems with sourcing - the Indy Green web site is not a WP:RS - and with statements that now have mis-attributed sourcing, such as the list of 2010 candidates, introduced by "According to the Virginia State Board of Elections (SBE) and Project Vote Smart, these candidates ran as Independent Green nominee/endorsees:[15][16][17]". Those two bodies do not in fact support the list of 11 candidates, but rather the previous list of 4 nominees only. If we decide other candidates should be included based on their past affiliations, or that we should include write-in candidates, then that should be supported by reliable sources. There are so many problems now due to the 60+ recent edits, that I do suggest going back to the 28 October 2010 version and rebuilding from there. -Colfer2 (talk)

60 plus edits are improvements

The edits are improvements and should remain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GailforRail (talkcontribs) 20:36, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't doubt that you would say so: you have a clear conflict of interest, and the article you OK'd was far from neutral and bloated with images. Drmies (talk) 05:34, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Neutrality tag

The article needs a serious POV check: too much of the content seems to promote the party and the people it supports. Even the lead was not neutral, given statements like "Because it favors increased political participation and better ballot access, it has endorsed candidates regardless of ideology." Democrats and Republicans could say the same thing. The plethora of photos of people who by themselves are mostly non-notable also don't help the article's neutrality--surrounding the lead with at least four photographs of candidates turns an encyclopedic article into a brochure. Drmies (talk) 05:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

COI tag

Edits made by GreenPartyConservative (talk · contribs) and GailforRail (talk · contribs) (i.e., Glenda "Gail for Rail" Parker--herself a non-notable person but running on the party ticket) are indicative enough of COI editing. Drmies (talk) 05:41, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Added corrected Goodfaith verision

Edits made by Drmies (talk · contribs) Restored documented and unbiased reporting. Goodfaith1 (talk) 09:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Edits made by Drmies (talk · contribs) Dear Drmies, with respect. You can not simply delete a documented work. Nor pictures that have been in the article for a long time. You are entitled to your opinion. You can not dictate. Restored documented and unbiased reporting. Goodfaith1 (talk) 09:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

I suggest returning the article to its version of 28 October 2010, before the recent 60+ edits by PochoChet and likely puppets. -Colfer2 (talk) 21:10, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I edited it section by section, since other editors had already started fixing. I used 28 October 2010 as a basis. -Colfer2 (talk) 23:23, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
The main diff now from 28 October 2010 is all the pictures are gone and there are 4 warning templates at the top. -Colfer2 (talk) 23:27, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Here's a link from the state board of elections showing the Independent Green Party of Virginia electors 2008. William K. Grogan is listed as and Indy Green elector. Mr. Grogan, as a previous version of the site showed, Grogan was an Indy Green endorsee but listed on ballot as Independent. Proves Grogan's an Indy Green. http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/cms/documents/08PVPGEN_CAN.pdf PonchoChet (talk) 18:07, 7 January 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.233.238 (talk)

Colfer2 and Drmies negative changes to the article

Why remove all the pictures? Why return to known and proven mistatements? Let's work together to improve the site. -Buckstardudette (talk) 23:27, 15 January 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.134.101.82 (talk)

Democrats appear to vandalize and block the Independent Green Party of Virginia site

As you follow Colfer2 and Drmies entries you see they insist to return to false story of the Indy Greens. Repeatedly proven false. And we also see that a delegate to the Democratic convention "orange mike" has blocked the site. Here's his wiki site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Orangemike and quote "Why they call me "Orange Mike"; photo taken while I was a delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention".

  • Is this PonchoChet editing through an IP? At any rate, these comments don't hit any mark at all. What a photo of Orange Mike has to do with common WP editing guidelines is not clear, and suggesting some sort of party-political Wikipedia conspiracy is not very fruitful. This article will not be returned to the state it was in briefly, that of a photo gallery designed to promote a party's candidates. Drmies (talk) 19:27, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Please add congressional candidate

Please add Kenneth J. Hildebrandt [1], [2] as a congressional candidate in the 5th District. Thank you.--Ccva12 (talk) 21:25, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

The article at this point doesn't even have a 2012 section. They don't seem to be running anybody except for the U.S. House. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:49, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
  Done, 2012 section added.--JayJasper (talk) 04:44, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
