External link clean-up
editThis article was completely saturated in external links, which I have removed. However, they may be of some use to anyone wishing to expand, so I'm moving them here. Bare in mind, I haven't visited them, so I can't vouch for their credibility. Also, I should mention that, with all the links, I'm somewhat suspicious that this was a product of plagerism. http://frontierleague.com http://Northernleague.com http://CanAmLeague.com http://Atlanticleague.com http://Centralleaguebaseball.com http://indyleaguesgraveyard.com http://Angelfire.com/ak/indyleagues/. 4.248.34.67 21:03, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
Factual error
editTo say that independent baseball leagues "operate in cities not served by Major or Minor League Baseball teams" is blatantly incorrect. Many independent franchises are located in Major League markets. --Truthiness 03:31, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:South Coast League.png
editImage:South Coast League.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Name
editIndependent baseball should suffice here, especially since some elements of the discussion are noteworthy beyond the leagues.--Cúchullain t/c 14:42, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
Intercounty Baseball League
editShould the Intercounty Baseball League not also be listed here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.2.247.34 (talk) 15:42, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- No, because it is an amateur league, as explained in its own article. oknazevad (talk) 15:57, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
maybe a link to reference to the collegiate wood bat leagues?
editmy google search for independent baseball led me here, but there is no reference here to collegiate leagues. as a regular joe looking for info, how am I supposed to know that I can't get there from here when I click the link? just put one of those "hey did you mean xxxx" things at the top like you have on every other page please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.19.235.179 (talk) 20:41, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
Mavericks
editI admittedly don't know independent ball that well but should this page include info on the Mavericks Independent Baseball League? Seems to be active with opening day of the 2024 season slated for May 8th. Dbferal (talk) 00:51, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- The article says the players arent paid, which means it is not a professional league. Spanneraol (talk) 00:55, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
