editI totally agree, why do we waste our time with this? What if every group of uneducated teenagers had a Wiki page, like the Suburban Korean Gang of Southern Wisconsin? Glamorizing their "gang" is exactly what they want. I mean, honestly... what constitutes this so called "gang"? A couple of abandoned buildings and a couple of teenagers hanging out with machetes pretending to be gangsta-rappers? I agree, please delete this page. 15:01, 15 February 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.2.134.111 (talk)
I think this article is a joke... MOST of the gang-related articles are a complete waste of bandwidth as they represent small groups of bored teenagers Some gangs really are dangerous criminal organizations that deeply impact society (ex:MS13 and others like it) but "Native Indian gang in Canada?" What the fuck? If EVERY GANG in EVERY COUNTRY were to have an article on wiki there would be hundreds of thousands of articles in this section since every poor neighbourhood in every corner in the world has some sort of gang. However 99% do not deserve to be mentioned here. PLEASE DELETE THIS!86.104.216.79 15:01, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
It's not a joke.... The Indian Posse in Canada are the most dangerous gang. Everybody in canada knows about them, except for maybe people in Toronto or something.
- Wikipedia is for articles of notable subjects. Given that Indian Posse is one of the largest (if not largest) gangs in Canada, it meets the criteria of notability. It will not be deleted. --Kmsiever 15:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
in my opinion.. indian posse IS a gang, in wich some people rely on to help keep them sevels feel secure safe and dangerous, who really knows why people join gangs. to make sure they never get jumped out on the streets, to feel important, ex TOUGH. Well im sayin is that people who join gangs have reasons. We all have to be on the same page here. If your in a city, ex. Vancouver and you get jumped on the streets by lets say a gang of latinos because your brown, or even jumped by browns because your black. we all have our own race to fit in on, wich means that not every gang of each different race will be getting along as if theres no past that ever happened. We have to sit and relise that not everybody loves everybody like your loved eveyone has there own situations to deal with and some are not brave enough to deal with there situations, so by on getting some friends to help them out, im not agreeing with these people that is right but some people are defensless out on there own, face it you wouldnt want to be stashing out in a safe house your whole life would you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.89.79.4 (talk • contribs) 22 February 2007
Kmsiever if it really is the "biggest gang in Canada" (which btw is one of the safest countries in the world) and you feel it impacts Canadian society in such a devastating way as for it to be part of an encyclopedia... at least put some sources up please. Second poster: uhm lol? what? I am not questioning about the rights of some gangs to be part of an encyclopedia... i am questioning the right of this particular gang to be in an encyclopedia.86.104.216.79 18:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Done. But I should point out that I was the one that put up the "citation needed" tag after that statement (see my previous edit). --Kmsiever 19:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Obviously the goal here is to factualize and not sensationalize. The IP and street gangs (of which there are several) are of real notability in my corner of the world - Manitoba- and Western Canada in general. News reports from Winnipeg frequently reference gang activities and gang involvement in crimes (often with words to the effect of "it is not known if there is gang involvement" which is a strange way to write news but highlights the fact that gang acivities are on the radar.) To conclude:
- The subject of the article is notable and should be retained
- More references and information could only help (I'm tracking down some)

- To the untitled IP from Virginia who dismisses this gang as "as a bunch uneducated teenagers" hanging in abandoned buildings and thus of no note, please try talking to this man, Brenden Peters, who was tortured for five days in March 2016 by the Indian Posse with knives and a blowtorch. I think his viewpoint would be rather different from yours. The story is here: Man faces prison time for confining, torturing man in Saskatoon basement for five days. Regards, --A.S. Notability
editI've added a discussion and ref from CISC that clearly establishes notability for this gang. Mmoyer 02:30, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Assessment
editI have assessed this as a Stub, as it only contains the basic information on the subject, and of low importance, as I do not feel that this topic is essential for understanding Canada. Cheers, CP 01:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
