editBy the way, from when did Pratibha Patil become a Rajasthani? If that's the case, we can safely assume VP Singh and others as Rajasthanis. She is a Maratha, and her husband is a rajput settled in Maharashtra.So... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.195.128.206 (talk) 20:22, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Probable candidates
editNice article. I was just thinking a few days ago about creating an article for this. But could someone give refs for the list of presidential candidates? I don't remember hearing or reading half of those names as potential candidates. - Aksi_great (talk) 20:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
I intend to write references too, but the problem is all of these candidates are simply speculated, either by parties or mostly by media. so i'm waiting for any formal announcements. I also considered removing them entirely, but there is no plausible reason for thatLeaveSleaves 05:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think you should remove the names which cannot be backed up by reliable sources like the Times of India, Indian Express, Hindu et al. - Aksi_great (talk) 14:20, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have revised the section and would keep upon updating it. Also can you suggest what are the other possible areas that can be covered at this point? Should actual number of electoral colleges etc need to be mentioned?- LeaveSleaves 17:32, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Move electoral college
editGreat update by User:Raja Hussain to the Indian presidential election, 2007 page with the electoral college information. However, I was thinking that information fits better in President_of_India#Election_of_the_President. Your thoughts... --Natrajdr 07:43, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Disagree I think it's far more appropriate and relevant here since the information may keep on changing for every election. Specially in terms of census and no of assembly seats. Not to mention constitution of new states. However I do think that it should be more refined and should not appear as gross statistical data -- LeaveSleaves 08:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Disagree I agree with LeaveSleaves--Raja Hussain 09:37, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Controversy
editThis page says nothing about the controversies the election got into. As for the electoral college info it definitely doesn't belong here. A similar article on wikipedia which was formerly featured gives an idea as to what should be included here. Cheers--Shahab 07:23, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Nope, *COMPLETELY* different kind of election. Forget it, it's fine as it currently is. The controversies should be included, though. —Nightstallion 11:20, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I assume you are talking about controversies related with candidate's background, especially Patil's. I'm not sure about including these controversies, as they do not concern the election in particular but rather the candidates.LeaveSleaves 14:03, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:ECI logo.jpg
editImage:ECI logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
