Terminology

The official term is коренные, малочисленные народы Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока Российской Федерации, which translates as Indigenous, small-numbered peoples of the North, Sibera and the Far East, so: indigenous first, small-numbered second. The term "extreme" (крайний) is not part of the term, even though of course it is part of how Russian legislation defines the КМНС. --

• Oppose. WP:INDIGENOUS says that "Native American", "Indian", and "Indigenous" are all capitalized when referring to individuals and their citizenship. That seems to fairly clearly apply here. Whether it's an adjective or a noun isn't relevant, it is referring to individuals and should be capitalised let the guideline.  — Amakuru (talk) 21:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

  Of course it's about individuals. These are specific Indigenous people of the areas mentioned. It is not a sweeping general phrase about indigenous people in general, but a specific group of individuals.  — Amakuru (talk) 07:21, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
