Indigenous uses of yellow cedar → Indigenous uses of Callitropsis nootkatensis – Callitropsis nootkatensis is frequently referred to by several vernacular names. According to a Google Ngram, yellow-cedar
is the most commonly used as of 2018, but not to the extent that the usage of other vernacular names is negligible. Per WP:NCFLORA and common practice, the vast majority of articles about plant species on Wikipedia bear the plant's scientific name as the title, and the article about the plant itself (Callitropsis nootkatensis) is no exception. The vernacular names Alaska cedar and Nootka cypress are redirects, and Yellow cedar is a set index article. This article should be moved to Indigenous uses of Callitropsis nootkatensis to remedy this confusion. — SamX [talk · contribs · he/him] 04:19, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose move as proposed; the current title allows most readers to recognize that this article is about indigenous uses of a specific type of wood, the proposed title does not. BilledMammal (talk) 01:09, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
