The correct company name

edit

Is it PT Kereta Api Indonesia or PT Kereta Api? Which one is correct? In the logo is PT Kereta Api Indonesia. Mfa fariz (talk) 03:57, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Mfa fariz:: The correct name is Kereta Api Indonesia and should be italicised. And the correct English name is Indonesian Railways Co. Thank you. Alqhaderi Aliffianiko (talk) 07:58, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Indonesian Railway CompanyKereta Api Indonesia – Redundant, without discussion, is not necessary corporate name in English, like Keretapi Tanah Melayu. Thanks in advance. 115.178.205.239 (talk) 13:22, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:36, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Comment: According annual report 2018, there is no mentions in English name "Indonesian Railway Company", im not sure Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is have official name in English language (just translation on in the train or railway station it's not enough needed legal (law) documents about this), Unlike Thai (SRT) and the Philippines (PNR) they have official name in english language. 49.228.8.189 (talk) 16:16, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Correct dates

edit

See this Indonesian version for further information.

According the official regulations and facts on printed books and newspapers, all the date of corporate status change are incorrect, and so I don't believe it:

  • DKA to PNKA: mentions 28 September 1960, but this reference mentions 25 May 1963 (that is cognate with the regulation, Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 22 Tahun 1963.
  • PNKA to PJKA: mentions 15 September 1970, but this regulation mentions 15 September 1971, not 1970, but it was officially used in 1972 or launching of Ejaan yang Disempurnakan (because no PDKA: Perusahaan Djawatan Kereta Api references at all and that fact that until the end of 1971 or early 1972 the newspapers and advertisements had still mentioned PNKA).
  • PJKA to Perumka: mentions 1 August 1990, but the fact on this screenshot of newspaper mentions 2 January 1991.
  • Perumka to PT KAI: It was officially renamed per 1 June 1999 according with this statement.

KAI is the major railway operator, but NOT the sole public railway operator. There are PT MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta which are not parts of KAI 182.1.119.138 (talk) 06:02, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
