This article is not exactly large, but has been expanded from its delisting and may have GA potential; we'll see during the review. --K. Peake 21:07, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Infobox and lead
edit- Cover art needs alt text and the term "official" is not needed on the main text
- 1995–96 → 1995 in the infobox, since that is when the body backs up it being recorded
- Remove venue parameter because it is for live recordings
- Hip hop genre is unsourced; remove it or find a source and write out in the body
- Replace hlist with bullet points and remove the executive producer per Template:Infobox album
- Target Mr. Porter to Denaun Porter
- Remove mention of all caps stylization, as this is not considered notable for albums
- "on November 12, 1996, by" → "on November 12, 1996, through"
- "with production handled by Mr. Porter," → "with production being handled by Mr. Porter" with the appropriate target
- Why is Proof mentioned as a producer when the body does not list him as one nor does [1]?
- [1] should not be in the lead at all since refs are not supposed to be there
- Target guest vocals to Guest appearance
- Target Proof to Proof (rapper)
- Target Eye-Kyu to D12
- "Three and Thyme," → "Three, and Thyme,"
- "Physical copies of the album were" → "Physical copies of Infinite were"
- The above sentence and the following two are not backed up properly in the body, nor are they by [1]; try and add more sourcing and write this out in the appropriate areas of the body if you can do all of that? Do not worry if you are not sure where to place certain information, as you can ask me and I will be willing to help you.
- Target cassette to Cassette tape
- Target vinyl to Phonograph record
- "sold them out of the trunk" → "sold the copies from the trunk"
- "and only the album's title track Infinite is" → "and only the title track "Infinite" has been made" with the target
- "posted a remaster and remix of the title track," → "posted a remix of the title track that was remastered,"
- "made available digitally for" → "releasing it digitally for" with the target
- "Infinite was a commercial" → "It was a commercial" and this should be the last sentence of the para instead
- "the album received mixed reviews from critics." → "the former received mixed reviews from music critics," with the target and this should be the sentence before the commercial one in the new order and add what critics talked about if you can
Background and recording
edit- Mark Bass, 2016 → Mark Bass on meeting Eminem, 2016 with the target
- "which has been run by brothers Jeff and Mark Bass." → "which had been run by Jeff and Mark Bass; they are known as the Bass Brothers."
- "job cooking and washing dishes" → "job that involved cooking and washing dishes"
- "restaurant at St. Clair Shores" → "restaurant in St. Clair Shores"
- "recorded in 1995[4] and released" → "recorded in 1995,[4] later being released"
- "under the Bass brothers'" → "by the Bass Brothers'"
- "was encouraged by others," → "was encouraged by others for the album,"
- "Desperate to be embraced by the Motor City's hip-hop scene, Eminem rapped in such a manner that he was accused of sounding like Nas and AZ." This is a full sentence quote from [5], so you should write about the Motor City part of the quote in this section as well as mention the Nas comparisons since you did that for AZ
- Target Mr. Porter to Denaun Porter
Composition
edit- Retitle to Composition and lyrics
- The "radio-friendly" quote is not backed up by [6]
- "of getting on the air" → "of getting played"
- "radio stations.[6] Only around" → "radio stations;[6] only around"
- "Subjects covered in Infinite included his" → "Subjects covered on Infinite included Eminem"
- "Hailie Jade Mathers, Eminem's newborn daughter while" → "Hailie Jade Mathers, Eminem's newborn daughter, while" with the wikilink per MOS:LINK2SECT
- "and abuse of drugs" → "as well as his abuse of drugs"
- "Eminem recalls:" → "Eminem recalled:"
- I have checked the sources and the quote is not backed up by them; can you fix this?
- Remove target on AZ
- The last para should not be here; move it to the following section as the first para and retitle to Release and reception
- The initial release sentence should start the para; make it something like "On November 12, 1996, Infinite was released by Web Entertainment." and use [3] to back this up, since it did not state the exact release date in the first section so this type of close repetition is fine
- "re-released it as a free download" → "re-released it for free download"
- "for Eminem's comeback album Relapse." → "for Eminem's sixth studio album Relapse (2009); this was his comeback album."
- Target "Infinite" to Infinite (Eminem song)
- "of the album's 20th anniversary, followed by" → "of the album's 20th anniversary five days after the event. The remix was followed by"
- "the making of the album on the same day." → "the making of Infinite, also released on November 17, 2006."
- You can add more about the documentary from [1], plus the same should be done for the remix in the appropriate place (referencing the content in the lead that has not been written out here and it should probably go after the "five days..." part in that sentence but I didn't insert that in my prose suggestion because I was not entirely certain of how to order currently)
Reception
edit- "exactly how many copies Infinite sold." → "how many copies Infinite exactly sold."
- "in The Way I Am" → "in his autobiography The Way I Am (2008)" with the wikilink
- "other sources state the album" → "other sources stated that the album"
- "hundred copies[2] or even 1,000 copies." → "hundred copies,[2] or even a thousand copies."
- "with the album's lack of success" → "with Infinite's lack of success"
- "alter ego present in his" → "alter ego, which became present in his"
- Mention The Slim Shady EP here, since [1] states information that makes it appropriate for inclusion
- RapReviews.com → RapReviews
- "of the album are mixed." → "of Infinite from music critics were mixed." with the target
- "Rolling Stone states that" → "Mosi Reeves from Rolling Stone stated,"
- "my Christianity'" on "It's O.K."," → "my Christianity through God' on 'It's O.K.'"," with the target
- "large role in his later lyrics." → "large role in his later works' lyrics."
- Jesal Padania's RapReviews review should have quotes written out here like the others
- "Eminem later referred to the album" → "Eminem went on to refer to the album"
- The above sentence should come after all of the reviews
- "from his 2017 album Revival." → "the latter of which is from his ninth studio album Revival (2017)."
- "describes the album as" → "describes Infinite as"
- "and that its" → "and commented that its"
- "be matched by The Marshall Mathers LP." → "be matched by his third studio album The Marshall Mathers LP (2000)."
Track listing
edit- Target Mr. Porter to Denaun Porter
- Where are the credits for "W.E.G.O. (Interlude)"?
- Target Eye-Kyu to D12
- Workman → Angela Workman
- Target Googie to Googie architecture
Personnel
edit- Discogs should not be here since it is considered unreliable per WP:ALBUMAVOID; is this even needed though, or is it just a second source alongside the booklet to back up info?
References
edit- Copyvio score is too high at 45.7% for the Rolling Stone ref
- Make sure all of these are archived by using the tool
- Ref 1 should have the accessdate formatted the same as the other refs for consistency
- Ref 3 should cite the original URL and include the archive separately, or is that not possible for a book source?
- Cite MTV as publisher instead for ref 4
- Remove the publisher from ref 5
- Remove the publisher from ref 6 and fix MOS:QWQ issues
- Rap Reviews → RapReviews on refs 7 and 13, citing as work/website instead
- Allmusic → AllMusic on ref 8, citing as the sole publisher instead and you should replace the URL with this one
- Authorlink Sean Michaels (writer) on ref 9
- Cite Statistic Brain as publisher for ref 11
- Remove wikilink on AllMusic for ref 12 and cite it as the sole publisher instead
- Fix MOS:QWQ issues with ref 14
- Refs 15 and 16 are not reliable sources; remove or replace, I think the latter may be likely since I knew before as an Eminem fan that he mentioned the album in the songs
- WP:OVERLINK of Eminem on ref 18
- Remove ref 19 since that is an unreliable source, as I previously covered
Final comments and verdict
edit- On hold for more than a week, as I am giving you more time for this article since it is quite a bit messy and is missing a decent amount of information; definitely improved from before the peer review though. --K. Peake 15:33, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Kyle Peake Thank you for reviwing the artical! Can you clarify the comments on the 'References' section mainly the reference number because they have changed. Thanks, — RealFakeKimT 17:36, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- RealFakeKim To avoid any confusion as a result of changing ref numbers, here is the revision of the article that I reviewed. Also, remove Discogs from being used for the genre as it is unreliable; either add a different source and I will then check it or just remove hip hop altogether. --K. Peake 18:07, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Kyle Peake I belive I have addressed all your point. — RealFakeKimT 16:02, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- RealFakeKim There are still remaining issues that you have not addressed yet, such as the ref in the lead and original research that is not backed up there or in the body, as well as unfixed grammar and ref layout. --K. Peake 08:35, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- RealFakeKim Are you going to fix the remaining issues, or do you require further help? --K. Peake 14:58, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- RealFakeKim Sorry but I am going to have to ✗ Fail this article since it has been on hold too long and you have not shown enough interest, plus it is very far from meeting the GA criteria (especially in terms of broadness). --K. Peake 10:00, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
