Merge proposal
It is hard to argue with the editor that proposed this merge if they haven't even bothered to explain why they think it should be merged. I don't think the Infinity Blade: Awakening article should be merged with the Infinity Blade article because they are separate entities with references specific to the novella. Infinity Blade 2 will have its own article when it is released (possibly even before then), so how is this different? No merge --Spidey104 14:08, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Yes these pages should be merged. Infinity Blade is becoming a series now, bigger than most people probably anticipated at first. There are now going to be 2 games and this book, most likely with more books to follow. I think there should be an Infinity Blade article with headings for each game and the book. It can be organized and managed from one page, I think that it is a good idea. Yes Merge Eric Herrera (talk) 02:21, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
No actually, and I will leave my previous post for discussion purposes, I think they should not be merged a page "Infinity Blade Series" should be made with both games and the book in it. Each should have it's own page though but with smaller articles of each within a page. I don't know what they are called sub-categories(?) anyway No Merge Eric Herrera (talk) 02:29, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with Eric Herrera that a "Infinity Blade series" page would be useful. It would be similar to Pirates of the Caribbean (film series) with links to the articles about the individual entries and that "series" article focusing on the connections between them. (Obviously I still say no to the merge.) Spidey104 13:56, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
It has now been over a month without any additional discussion. Currently there the votes are 2 against the merge and 0 for the merge. I'm removing the merge proposal template from both articles because there does not seem to be any support, currently, for the merge. Spidey 104 14:37, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Original research?
- Two of [the game’s expansions] received coverage in the gaming press, which is unusual for an iOS title.
I flagged this with a {{citation needed}}—is this OR, or has someone actually called it unusual? —Frungi (talk) 06:52, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- No idea. It's been in the page for months, and I just left it when I reorganized/rewrote the gameplay and expansions sections yesterday. When I get to the reception section, I'll drop or keep it depending on what sources I find. --PresN 16:17, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Looks interesting. Review to come soon. J Milburn (talk) 13:26, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think you need to mention in the opening lines that the game is set in a fantasy universe.
- "God King" or "God-King"?
- "The game follows a repetitive narrative structure in which the player ascends a castle in a quest to battle the primary antagonist, the immortal God King. In the introduction for the game, the player's character will be slain by the God King." I don't follow. Is the game deliberately non-chronological?
- Presumably the character has a depleting health bar?
- What happens if the character is killed? Drop back to an earlier save point?
- Can the enemies continue becoming stronger indefinitely?
- "the titular Infinity Blade has the ability to prevent immortals like the God King from resurrecting after death" Is there a way to acquire the blade?
This is a great little article- very well written, referenced and researched. I'll be more than happy to promote when you've fixed the small issues above. Note that I've also done some very light copyediting. J Milburn (talk) 13:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- All done, except if the enemies get stronger indefinitely- I can't find a source on this, since of course reviewers only played the game for a few hours. The enemies scale roughly with your level, which since the first update is unlimited, but my only evidence is anecdotal (from me playing the game), so that may not be true. --PresN 18:46, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Great, solid improvements, I have no further issues. This is a great little article- very well written and referenced. I actually think, despite its short length, that it would have a chance at FAC; here's what I would recommend:
- Make sure that what is written is backed up by the references. Spotchecks at FAC rightfully check that no original research has slipped in. I admit my spotchecks here were minimal, but they're more in-depth at the next level.
- Improve the rationales on the non-free images; consider whether they are strictly necessary, and/or whether more information could be gleaned from different images.
- As this is short, expansion can't hurt. A few more details in the "Legacy" section may be possible.
- Perhaps a little more on the soundtrack? I know a lot of video game articles include it with a collapsed infobox and tracklisting. (Don't add an album cover, though.)
- Anyway, that's only if you're interested in FAC. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any further help, but, right now, I'm happy to promote. Great job! J Milburn (talk) 00:31, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Pocket Gamer
re: this edit, I'm looking at WP:ITALICS, which says:
Online magazines, newspapers, and news sites with original content should generally be italicized
Also the site's WP article uses italics. I'd normally convert the other sites but their articles didn't use italics, so I stuck with the article's consensus. czar ♔ 02:42, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
- Pretty much no website gets put in italics unless it's magazine-style, no matter what ITALICS says; Pocket Gamer makes no such reference but the image there talks about an "edition", so I'll defer to the article's italicization and assume it's just poorly written. --PresN 21:54, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

Genre
There's a contradiction here regarding this game's genre: the lead says it's a fighting game but the infobox says action RPG. Brutannica (talk) 01:22, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- They now both say both; it's a fighting game with RPG elements. --PresN 17:45, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Infinity Blade: Redemption and Infinity Blade: Awakening
Insufficient secondary sources for this article to stand on its own. I'd normally suggest a separate article for the series, but I think the first game's "sequels" section could be renamed "legacy" or "series" and cover everything adequately there (unless someone finds sources dedicated to discussion of the series as a whole). czar 04:38, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Agreed with both; they're notable (entirely because Sanderson was the author) but there's not really any sources (no one reviews tie-in novellas for mobile games), so they can come in here. Also agree with renaming to "Legacy". Since this is the TFA, I've removed the merge tag from the article just for today; I'll re-add it afterwards. --PresN 06:19, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Even though I was a big part of the initial writing of the Infinity Blade: Awakening article I support this merge, because both articles about the novellas have mostly become plot dumps that are unnecessary. Both articles have good references, particularly Awakening, about the production of the novellas, so please be sure those are merged over. Spidey104 16:29, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Support merge. --The1337gamer (talk) 14:48, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
Went ahead and merged them in- they didn't have much that wasn't here besides the plot summary, so I just cut that way down and added it. --PresN 16:02, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
