Game Engine?
editDoes anyone know source that is "citedly" (surely, there *must* be some neologism for "a source for a fact that meets WP:RS?! Kind of the reverse of "truthiness") for what engine this is built on? [1] suggests Unreal, but it's just a guess. Jimw338 (talk) 15:35, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

GGPO
editI cited the wrong link in the summary when I changed the statement that this game will use GGPO like MKX did. The right one is this. --uKER (talk) 05:45, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Game series?
editShould we create an article about the whole game series and related media? There are some things I'd like to see, like a chart comparing the characters playable in the two installments, and I think the series will keep going on. Magegg (talk) 18:14, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- I started drafting a series article in my sandbox, but got lazy and stopped after a bit. Personally, I was thinking of waiting until Injustice 3 was officially confirmed before creating the actual article. Wani (talk) 01:09, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
Reassessment
editUpping this to B-class from Start-class. The article looks great and here are just some very brief comments after a simple read through
- I think that the gameplay section seems to assume that the players know the gameplay mechanics of the first game, which isn't ideal.
- Players can buy "Source Crystals" using real-world money to purchase cosmetic adjustments for fighters - should wikilink "using real-world money" to microtransactions.
- The development section could be more substantial. This is a tentpole game after all.
- There are a bunch of bare urls that need to be fixed.

Hell, the original was one of my favorite games on the Xbox. Let's see what the sequel's got in store for us. JOEBRO64 22:58, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Lead
- You should clarify what a role-playing game is; not many people may know it besides us. Some thing like: ... implementing a role-playing game (RPG)-style progression...
- Just as a general note for the entire article, I noticed that the word "loot" is used to describe the game's system for obtaining items. This sounds a bit like jargon (WP:VGG#Gaming jargon). You don't have to change this if you don't want to, but I just wanted to point this out.
- Eh, as long as we have a wikilink to Loot box for "loot", I think it'll be okay. Wani (talk) 06:12, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- Gameplay
- Shouldn't the characters section be in gameplay? It's more relevant here than in the plot section.

- @TheJoebro64: Hey, if you don't mind, I'd like your opinion about the character list. It used to look like this (diff: [2]), but other users have been adding onto it. I don't understand the point in distinguishing the DLC characters by Fighter Packs (the superscript notes), since you can purchase them individually and aren't forced to buy them through each pack. I also don't know if adding italics to point out guest characters is necessary either. What do you think? Wani (talk) 23:42, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- Personally I'm fine with the current setup. It doesn't seem to have any issues, but you might want to do something to clarify that the TMNT, Atom, etc. are DLC besides numbers. JOEBRO64 01:11, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

- Synopsis
- Injustice 2 continues the storyline established in Injustice: Gods Among Us.[23] Unlike the previous game, which centered on a multi-universe conflict, the plot for Injustice 2 takes place entirely within the alternate, dystopian universe.[19] According to Injustice: Gods Among Us Cinematic Director Dominic Cianciolo, the story from the first installment provided a solid foundation for adapting the canonical histories of the game's newer cast, allowing the writers to fit their stories within the Injustice universe.[24] The biggest challenge presented to the writers was extending the series' narrative without repeating the core Batman versus Superman conflict.[24] This led to the inclusion of Brainiac as the game's central antagonist, as there were few characters in the DC Universe that could top "Dictator Superman" as a foe for Batman.[24] - this seems more relevant to development rather than the plot section.
- The story campaign in Injustice 2 is also the first in the series to feature multiple endings.[25] - there are only two endings, so "multiple" is inaccurate. In fact, you might want to cut this sentence entirely, as it's stated within the plot summary there is more than one ending.
- Flash and a reformed Green Lantern reunite before joining Batman, who sends Hal to Atlantis to gain Aquaman's assistance - I, being a DC Comics nerd, know that Hal is Green Lantern, but others may not. You need to clarify this.

- @TheJoebro64: Another question. One user added the voice actors for each character in the plot summary in both the Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2 articles (although, the VAs for the latter were recently removed by another user. I wasn't sure whether to allow that edit or not. According to VG guidelines, voice cast lists aren't usually appropriate; however, the cast includes some notable VAs (Kevin Conroy, Tara Strong, etc.). Should I remove or keep them? Wani (talk) 00:12, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
- I think listing the cast here is fine. Most of the cast members seem notable, especially the DCAU alumni. JOEBRO64 01:11, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

- According to Senior Marketing Game Manager Brian Goodman, the playable characters were decided upon by NetherRealm Studios in collaboration with DC Comics, similar to the previous title.[29][30] The developers considered the characters' lore, personalities, abilities, popularity, participation in the story, and relationships with other characters during the roster selection process.[29][30] Creative Director Ed Boon stated that Injustice 2's roster would contain more relatively obscure characters, since Injustice: Gods Among Us had covered most of DC Comics' most notable figures.[31] He teased the possibility of third-party DLC characters, which were well-received in Mortal Kombat X, eventually resulting in the inclusions of Dark Horse Comics' Hellboy and Mirage Studios' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.[31][32] Due to the success of Scorpion in the previous installment, who was the most downloaded DLC fighter, Boon also entertained the likelihood of NetherRealm including other Mortal Kombat characters as downloadable content, leading to the inclusions of Sub-Zero and Raiden.[33][34][32] As with Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden were given new costume designs by comic book artist Jim Lee.[35][36] - again, this seems more like development.
- As I previously suggested, it seems like a better idea to move the character roster to gameplay.
- Development
- NetherRealm was afforded a lot of freedom with DC Comics' properties when designing characters - replace "a lot" with "extensive" or something similar.
- The motion capture was then tweaked with manual animations in order to obtain - substitute "tweaked" for "modified", and cut "in order".
- Release
- The Digital Deluxe Edition included three DLC characters - change "DLC" to "downloadable content", and put DLC in parenthesis afterward.
- There's a glaring citation needed tag in the DLC section. I'd fix what is unsourced (which is that it was apparently the last DLC pack)
- Done Wani (talk) 17:51, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- The PC version - change to Microsoft Windows
- Reception
- Injustice 2 received generally favorable reviews, according to Metacritic, which assigned aggregated scores of 87% for the PlayStation 4, 89% for the Xbox One and 85% for PC. - I forgot to mention this at MVCI's GAN, but you don't need to list the MC scores in prose. The qualitative summary is much more helpful on its own (WP:VGG#Reception).
- Italicize each publication, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Titles#Major_works
- Reviewers lauded Injustice 2's story and presentation. - these generalizations need direct references.

Brainiac DLC
editJust a note: In the Story Mode, you can get brainiac by completing the story mode, but he can also be bought as DLC, which is unique to him. It says so in the DLC menu of the Ultimate Edition, or at least, it does in the Steam version. Mrman19 (talk) 18:17, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Alternate skins
editIs it worth editing so that the "alternate skins" section says who the character skin is for? Format example:
- Black Lightning (Raiden)
Mrman19 (talk) 17:45, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- No, that'd be leaning too much into unimportant trivia/fancruft territory. Wani (talk) 23:15, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
