I am considering making edits to the Innovation District Wikipedia page in the next several weeks. Innovation districts are an increasingly popular topic in urban policy and are sprouting up in cities all across the world. The current Innovation District Wikipedia entry is limited in scope and only talks about Boston's innovation district. There are over 70 cities globally that have created innovation districts. However, there currently is no central database to document these initiatives and shared knowledge in urban revitalization policy-making is limited. I think broadening the scope of this page and documenting these initiatives would be beneficial to the urban planning community. Furthermore, I think defining an innovation district, the parties involved in development, opportunities / risks, differences domestically vs. internationally would be useful. Ideally, the edited entry will allow municipal leaders to Google "innovation district" and have a blueprint / toolkit to assess whether this initiative is something to pursue in his / her city.
Any thoughts on the revised page or comments are welcome!

Tone problems
editI have recently tagged the article for tone. The piece is rife with industry jargon and not written for a general audience. It's full of vacuous language such as "urban geographies of innovation" and "develop integrated strategies and solutions" that reads like corporate mission/vision statements and not an encyclopedia article. We need to use terminology the average person is going to parse to actually learn what an "innovation district" is, and not use such grandiose and vacuous terminology. --Jayron32 17:27, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
