Why compare to cash and accrual?
editMy background is tax, not accountancy, but I don't understand the connection between the installment method -- which is a method for reporting tax -- and the cash or accrual methods. I don't think it is appropriate to compare them as if they are in the same category, because the installment method is available for specific situations regardless of the overall general accounting method used by the taxpayer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.63.192 (talk) 06:02, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- I will remove the merge tab: the installment method for tax is completely different from the installment method in accrual accounting. In general in the US we keep tax issues separate from financial reporting ones. --Sulmues (talk) 12:17, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
