As noted above, the health literacy conference is attended by professionals from university medical centers, CDC, medical plans, and internationally; it is has been promoting health literacy for 8 years, see the PDF files on the conference page. The bilingual advanced directives are used by biligual patients throughout the state of California and may be used nationally, the H.E.L.P. curriculum was funded by Louisiana for use in Louisiana as well as nationally, they published easy-to-read 'What to Do For Health' books, used by the states of California and S. Dakota, health plans, Head Starts, health departments, and more; these books help reduce emergency room visits and costs. There is more on their website.
