Informal rename proposal
editThe formal name (see ref in article) is now "Institute of Astronomy". Since Institute of Astronomy is a disambiguation page for obvious reasons, I propose the following possibilities, including some arguments for/against:
- Institute of Astronomy, Toruń; or
- for: short
- against: the IA is not literally in Toruń, it's literally just next to the village of Piwnice
- Institute of Astronomy at Nicolaus Copernicus University; or
- for: it could be argued to be officially correct, although there doesn't seem to be an official way of joining the names
- Institute of Astronomy, Nicolaus Copernicus University; or
- for: it could be argued to be officially correct, although there doesn't seem to be an official way of joining the names
- against: commas in names tend to discouraged
- Institute of Astronomy (NCU); or
- for: short
- for: NCU is the official abbreviation of the university name
- against: the abbreviation NCU is not that well known
- Institute of Astronomy, NCU.

Mike Peel Participation in the discussion welcome. :) I guess my tendency would be to support the final one: Institute of Astronomy, NCU. Boud (talk) 23:17, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Boud: Nice to see you here. :-) I've gone ahead and renamed the article as your preferred suggestion. If anyone disagrees then we can discuss it here. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:44, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
