I think merging these two would be like merging the article "Tennis" with the article "Racket"... you use one to do the other, but they remain separate ideas. The "interactive genetic algorithm" article could perhaps use a little expansion to explain, for example, the specific differences between an interactive genetic algorithm and one based on computer-determined fitness. - Tamur (17 Feb 2006)

The basic framework of this technique consists of three parts: a target system, an optimization part, and a human. Currently, EC including GA, GP, ES, EP, PSO, and other fitness-based optimization techniques is used for the optimization part. I think that the explanation of IEC covers that of IGA, IGP, IES, IEP, IPSO, and others, and therefore, I think that it is convenient for readers to merge these explanations into one. - Takagi (May 20, 2006)
