Dead link
editThe external link to "Diagram of an interference fit" is broken and I wasn't able to find the correct one. It appears to be a link into Engineer on a Disk which has moved to hughjack.com. Neil Mayhew (talk) 01:05, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've fixed the link. Thanks for the heads up. Wizard191 (talk) 18:12, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Equations
editThis page really needs equations. given moduli, inner OD, outer ID and OD, overlap length, and coefficient of friction, what's the press force and the slipping torque? —Ben FrantzDale (talk) 16:30, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Interference fit. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20090926142345/http://www.emerson-ept.com:80/eptroot/kopflex/Engineered/FAQ/design.htm to http://www.emerson-ept.com/EPTRoot/kopflex/Engineered/FAQ/design.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}

Muddling Metric and Imperial makes it almost incomprensible
editThe muddling of metric and imperial measures almost makes this article incomprehensible. We should stick with one or the other. From a technical point of view when talking about interference or press fitting it probably makes no sense to say something is 10mm and then give the imperial value for it - in an engineering shop you are working in one or the other.
Then later in the article we move to just imperial and then some of these are give in alternative metric. Most people don't work in both I suggest Metric and Imperial sections - remember more than 99.99% of the world works in metric!
