Athens Charter
editA common mistake, the Athens Charter of 1931 (monument preservation) has been mixed up with the Athens Charter of 1933 (modernist architecture). I'm deleting the reference to Le Corbusier but this also needs resolving elsewhere. Gdabski (talk) 04:26, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
The second "o"
editWhy is the acronym ICOMOS if if its the 'International Council on Monuments "and" Sites'? shouldn't it be ICOMAS?58.106.40.166 (talk) 14:03, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it seems ICOMAS would be the logical deduction, but I guess the founders thought that ICOMOS would sound much better and took in the "o" of MOnuments. (Thinkheritage (talk) 17:15, 3 April 2012 (UTC))
Links
editShould all of the states listed go to their respective pages, like the united states?
- Yes, but those articles need to be written. Feel free to create the links and get the process started. Fitzed (talk) 00:24, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
The list of National Committees would require some revision as some of the listed Committees have been closed and other new ones were created. The most up-to-date list can be found at ICOMOS National Committees. --Thinkheritage (talk) 17:20, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Keep It Focused
editI'm removing references to the location of ICOMOS-UK's headquarters and the founding date of ICOMOS-Australia. This information should not just be tagged on to this article (imagine if every National Committee used the text here to plug their website or office). The core topic of this article is the international ICOMOS organization. National Committees should either be discussed in separate sections devoted to each or, preferably, in their own article. Thanks! Fitzed (talk) 00:31, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
