comments to revised version of the International Geodetic Student Organisation article
editWhile an earlier and less elaborated version of this article was deleted, I have revised the content according to the wikipedia guidelines, including independent references from different reliable sources. After a copyright notice from MadmanBot I have added correct website citations and updated the duplicate parts, which are part of the official IGSO statutes (for which the organisation has the copyright).
The IGSO is considered notable, according to the criteria given on WP:ORG for non-commercial organizations: "Organizations are usually notable if they meet both of the following standards:
- The scope of their activities is national or international in scale.
- Information about the organization and its activities can be verified by multiple, third-party, independent, reliable sources.",
because:
- the IGSO's activities is international in scale, for more than 25 years
- information about the IGSO can be verified by multiple, third-party, independent, reliable sources (per WP:RS), as provided in the references section. Sources include the FIG, the Finnish Ministry of Education, the ISPRS, and the German geodesy association DVW.
The IGSO is comparable with similar international student organisations from other faculties, such as Electrical Engineering Students' European Association, European Law Students' Association, International Forestry Students' Association, to name a few. Hawei (talk) 13:57, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
